Unspoken rules

She and I have a code language, or, I should probably put it in the passive voice, a code language is used, a language of not saying things, a vocabulary of ellipses. These silences are significant, to put it politely. A non-overt subject here, a dropped pronoun there; who knew that empty nodes could contain so much meaning.
