So it’s tax time, right? And so that means it’s time for me delve into my filing system and collect all the necessary records and what have you for the year. This filing system of mine hasn’t quite been perfected; it consists of one Nike and one Birkenstock shoebox. Mixed in with the mounds of receipts and miscellany spanning several years, I found these gems:
- Sheet music, Pomp and Circumstance, Alto sax part
- Korg ToneWorks PX2 Owner’s Manual
- Cardboard label, Docker’s shirt, size large
- Student Housing Contract, University of Kansas, incomplete
- Static-proof bag (sticker: “Only EZ-Drive version 9.06 or later will ensure proper installation of your hard drive.”)
- Warning slip, Ottawa KS police department (“We would appreciate your future cooperation in an attempt to make Ottawa a safer city in which to drive.”)
- Guitar tablature, “Wildflowers”, Tom Petty
- “Fatalgram”, U.S. Department of Labor, Metal and Nonmetal Mine Safety and Health Division
- Movie ticket stub, The Matrix, student price, 9:45p showing
- LING 525 final exam (professor comment: “Scott, a reflective final essay. Syntactic argumentation comes easily to you when you set your mind to it.”)
