The other night some buddies and I did some more exploring in the steam tunnels beneath KU. They’re pretty extensive, and I discover something new every time I go in. I know there are quite a few other people who enjoy exploring college tunnels and general ‘infiltration’ as much as I do, and I’m sure some people would wonder what’s so attractive about putting yourself in cramped, hot, potentially dangerous environments with bugs and occasional rats. The answer, of course, is simply that it’s fun to be places where you’re not ‘supposed’ to be. There’s also the fun of the exploration, trying to figure out where you are, and the thrill of realizing you’re in the museum at 2:00 am.
