Way back in ’98 Dvorak discussed the need for a “Dewey decimal system for the web”, an ontological system particularly suited for the particularly wild and wooly world of online content. Such a system could end up being tremendously important, and so I wonder, will it be developed by committee or will a defacto standard emerge, like perhaps the open directory project?
