I picked up some chinese the other day and managed to make quite a fool out of myself. It was the first time I’d ever ordered anything by weight since I got to Europe, and I was a little unsure about the metric conversion (let alone the language translation). Before I could do the math, the lady asked me what I wanted, so I went with my instinct. It wasn’t until half of the restaurant was heartily laughing at me that I realized I had ordered over 250 pounds of pork. I must’ve forgotten to carry the one.
